gvSIG Mobile mapping libraries on Android, test #1

9 05 2009

The gvSIG Mobile mapping libraries used by the Openmoko/Maemo version can be added without a change to an Android project. I only had to add some 30 lines of code to implement the rendering API using Android’s classes and a few more lines on the UI side, and here is the first WMS/Spherical Mercator demo:

Hello Bill,

the video you mention was just a little test and I have not published the source code, sorry. Instead, you can have a look at the the code of gvSIG Mini which is also a WMS/tile client for Android with other functionalities. It’s website is:

http://www.gvsigmini.org

and the source code can be downloaded fro this public SVN repository:

https://svn.prodevelop.es/public/gvsig_mini_android
Folder: src/trunk

For any suggestions/issues you can use the gvSIG English mailing list:

Regards,
Juan Lucas
